WHAT IS THE VENTURE GRANT PROGRAM? Through the Venture Grant program, the Lancaster Foundation for Educational Enrichment (LFEE) rewards innovative and creative educational ideas for the benefit of students in the School District of Lancaster (SDoL). This program provides funds, which enable improved educational strategies and inspirations of SDoL staff to become realities. The program is supported by gifts to the LFEE, a non-profit organization which promotes educational excellence in the SDoL by strengthening community participation and by providing support for initiatives not funded by current tax revenues. WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR A GRANT? All professional staff members in the School District of Lancaster are eligible. However, please note that projects which have previously been funded will not be accepted. WHAT TYPES OF GRANTS ARE AVAILABLE? Classroom: Classroom grants range from $100 to $500. These may be for individual classrooms or teams of teachers in a particular school. School: School grants range from $501 to $2000. They should benefit the school, entire grade level, or department population. District: District grants are up to $3000 and must benefit students across a level (elementary, middle or high school). Other amounts may be granted by discretion of the LFEE Board. Community involvement is viewed favorably, but is not a requirement. WHEN ARE GRANTS AWARDED? Grants are reviewed 6 times per year - in January, March, May, July, September, and November. Completed applications are due in the LFEE office, located in room 302 at J.P. McCaskey High School, on the second Tuesday of the above months (exception being May, when applications are due the first Tuesday). Notification of the Board’s decision will be made following meetings held on the fourth Tuesday of the above months. WHAT CRITERIA ARE CONSIDERED IN THE REVIEW OF GRANTS? The project must not be funded through the SDoL budget The initiative must align with SDoL standards that
