The The CFP—based Redatuming of Rugged Surface and The Study ofNear-surface Configuration Ma Guang—kai(Geophysical Prospect and Information Technology) Directed by Professor Li Zhen-ehun Abstraet One of the challenging problems that must be overcome in seismic data process is how to eliminate near-surface effects，caused by complex acquisffion conditions．The nonhyperbolic moveout pattern in shot gathers mainly results from rugged topography and lateral variation of near sllrface layers．Consequently,this distortion seriously affects the subsequent velocity estimation and migration．But，time shift static correction based on near-surface consistence becomes an improper choice as a part of data processing of high precision，especially in complex surface areas．Wave equation redatuming can preserve the dynamic nature without near-surface consistence assumption and it carl improve imaging quality in many areas． This paper discusses the CFP—based redatuming approach，a new wave equation redatuming method developed in the recent years．This approach is firmly rooted to The Common Focus Point(CFP)technology introduced by Berkhout(1997)．The CFP technology divides the migration progress into two focusing steps：focusing in emission and focusing in detection．The CFP-based redatuming Call be applied to the seismic data by simply defining defining one of the sub—weathering plane surface as the new acquisition dattun．The synthesis operator of rugged surface can be obtained by calculation．Applying this operator to all shot records，a CFP gather is obtained，and applying the operator to all CFP gathers，a gridpoint gather is gotten．After these two steps，the acquisition datum is extrapolated to a sub。weather plane surface．So the effects of rugged surface and complex near-surface are eliminated． In the progress of the CFP—based redatuming，the calculation of synthesis operators is the most important，and it is desired to know about the near-surface configuration．The paper analyzes the near-sur
