ABSTRACTABSTRACT ABSTRACT ABSTRACT With the development of computer network，especially of Intemet，its field in application becomes more and more widely,such that the modem distance education is a classic sample．The modem distance education is named network education as well． which is teaching on the Interact by means of Intemet as tools and media．The modem distance education have provided the best advantaged merit for breaking out the limitation on time and space of traditional education to share excellent educational resource．The development of technology on Intemet，such as network transformation， web and stream media,not only transfers the static information as files or images，but also distributes to the audio and video on network．Above all，teachers and students will teach on network even at different space at the same time as in a classroom． Network becomes more and more favorable with its rich information ltSOUrCe， friendly interactive performance and excellent opening；modem education has focused on the distance education on network．At present，bandwidth and speed on network are relative low，which transfer the multimedia containing much information of audio and video，so there are many problems．It is a better advanced technology that the stream media technology transfers the multimedia at present，and it comes true that teaching on network is possible．Network education teaching on Intemet divides into syncllronous and asynchronous teaching two classes．The synchronous teaching transfers the multimedia classmom’s scene and teacher’s media in teaching with DDN／ADSL／ATM and sky satellite to distance classroom at Real—time by Intemet audio and video technology so that the teacher questions their students mad their students ask the question as well or the students consult their teacher,which realizes the similar teaching at a classroom．The courseware on demand(COD)is a important study method in asynchronous teaching，that the courseware was stored in the computer s
