Part I Teaching Material Analysis
The topic of this unit is to describe people’s appearance. And there are some new words and expressions in it. In my opinion, I think the teaching materials of this period include three parts: 1) speaking 2) listening 3) pair work
Part II Teaching Aims
In this lesson there are three purposes to be achieved .
1) Knowledge object: To master key words, phrases and sentence structures.
2) Ability objects: 1.To develop students’ ability of listening and speaking skills; 2. To train the students’ ability of working in group.
3) Emotional object: To tell the students not to judge a person by appearance and they should try to find the good in people.
Part III Teaching Important and Difficult points
1. To master new words and phrases;
2. To understand and use the sentence pattern correctly;
3. To develop their communicative ability, encourage students to express.
Part IV Teaching and Studying Methods
In this lesson, I’ll mainly use “tasked-based” teaching methods, communication methods, scene methods.
At the same time, the students learn this lesson mainly by using pair work, group work and playing games.
Part V Teaching Procedures
In order to reach the language goal of this period well, I’ll finish this lesson in six steps.
Step 1 Review and Warming-up 5
①Listen to a song and guess the name of the singer.
②Free talk between teacher and students about their idols ( famous singer star or movie star)
③Review the words and phrases.
Step 2 Speaking (Activities 1a 1b) 8
Firstly I’d like to discuss and explain the phrases in 1a after watching the picture,
Give students one minute to match the words with the pictures and check their answers with desk mates.
Then discuss in groups , and make sentences to fill in the blanks in 1b.
Step 3 Listening (Activity 1c 1d) 7
Listen and write Johnny Dean’s and Tina Brown’s jobs in the chart and what they look like.
