It has many advantages, such as high definition image, supporting many audio and video format, abroad using, low cost, easy to maintain, from the constraints of foreign patents. Internet phone function is a major expansion of technology Next Generation Versatile of Disc player for HDTV, having more additional value. Internet phone conference system is a traditional Client-Server model. The client consists of a NVD, an external USB camera, an external USB sound card and microphone. Server is the routine personal computer. In the research of the entire system’s software, first of all, the software and hardware framework of system’s development platform EM8620L has been expounded, so does the basic principles and reference technology of internet telephone. On this basis, the overall framework of the server and client has been designed synoptically. The public receive module of the client has been designed in detail. Audio data collection, sending, processing and playing in the client side has been implemented. It is been researched in-depth that the buffering of audio and video data packet, the complementary strategy when packets are lost, multi-channel audio mixing algorithm and voice active detection technology. Ultimately, the internet phone conference system based on NVD has been implemented. Via simulating the real network environment by emulator, a ration test and performance estimate has been done for the system. It is proved that Internet phone conference system based on NVD is simple, easy to use, nicer call quality, friendly user interface. The expected designing goal has been achieved.
