Teaching procedures
Step1 Warming-up
1.Ask students to sing and dance with the song “One Little Finger” together.
2.Talk about the characters with students.
Are they cute? Who is tall? Who is short?
Step2 Presentation
1. Show the photos of some famous people to introduce hairstyle, height and build. Teach the new words and sentences.
2. Go over the spellings and the pronunciations of the new words with students.
Step3 Practice (1a)
1. Read the introductions and give students an example: the person c has short hair. Who else has short hair? b, d, e, f.
2. Ask students to match the words with the people in the picture.
3. Check the answers.
Step4 Listening (1b)
1. Ask students to read the conversation in the picture together.
2. Listen carefully and fill in the blanks.
3. Check the answers and find Amy’s friend.
4.Read after the tape.
Step5 Pair work
1. Ask students to look at the picture in 1a and give them a sample:
----what does the person a look like?
----She has long straight hair. she is of medium height and of medium build.
2. Ask students to talk about the others in the picture in pairs.
3. Ask several pairs to show their own conversations.
Step6 Guessing game
1.Each group chooses one classmate or one teacher in a low voice, discuss and write down the descriptions about the person.
2.Each group leader reads your notes loudly to the whole class, the others try to guess who he is.
