Step 1 Warmingup and revision
1.Check the homework: Have a dictation about the activities in 1a.
2.Let students do some actions,like doing homework, going boating, playing badminton and so on. Other students guess the actions.
Step 2 Listening
Work on 2a.
1.Read the sentences first and understand the key words.
2.Listen and underline the words you hear.
3.Play the recording the first time adn students only listen.
4.Play the recording a second time. This time, ask students to underline each word. Point out the sample answer, grandmother.
5.Correct the answers

Work on 2b.
1.Write C for Carol, B for Becky, J for Jack next to each statement in 2a.
2.Play the recording the first time. Students only listen.

Play the recording again. Ask students to write a letter in front of each statement to show what each person did.

1.Learn the new words in 2d.
2.Look at the conversation in 2d. Then students read the dialogue by themselves and find out the answers to these questions:
(1)How was Lisas weekend?
(2)Where did Lisa work as a guide?
(3)What did Lisa do there?
(4)What did Paul do on his weekend?
Students finish the questionsby themselves. Then ask students to check the answers.

3.Students work in pairs and roleplay the conversation.
