Unit 3 How do you get to school? ---拓展阅读 主讲人:刘凯歌 Ⅰ Teaching Content: Unit 3 How do you get to school? ---拓展阅读 教学内容分析 本课例中的教学内容是两篇主题为different ways of going to school around the world的阅读文本。第一篇侧重介绍了How do the students go to school in American? 选择原因和美国校车。第二篇侧重介绍了How do students in other places around the world go to school? 整篇文章生词不多,语言难度与学生的认知水平接近。题材是学生比较喜欢和熟悉话题,容易激发学生参与学习的积极性。其中要求教师重点关注的阅读策略是shimming 和scanning,并在读后练习中设计了相关的策略运用内容。文本和练习中的图片有助于激活学生的背景知识,预测文章的内容,为后续阅读的顺利展开做好准备。 Ⅱ Teaching Aims: 学生能运用skimming 阅读策略准确找出文章的main idea. 学生能运用scanning 阅读策略寻找文章details,并完成mind map. 学生能谈论上学的交通方式并能准确表达选择这种方式的原因. Ⅲ Teaching Important and Difficult Points: Students can finish the mind map through scanning. Students can talk about the ways of transportation and why. Ⅳ Teaching Procedures: Step 1:warming-up and lead-in The teacher presents some pictures about how students go to school and says: We have talked about some ways of transportation, do you still remember what they are? … Different students go to school in different ways, for example…. Do you know how the students around the world go to school? Step 2: Presentation Present some pictures about how students in China/ American/Japan go to school. Students will be very interested in the following lesson Present the passage and the reading strategies. Step 3 While-reading For passage A: 1.Skimming: Ask students to read through the passage quickly and find out the main idea of the passage. If they find it , then hands up. 2. Scanning: Ask students to read carefully and mark the answers to the questions a. Why do American students take the school bus to school? b. What can they do on the school bus? c.
