AbstractAbst Abstract Abst ract Agent software is a rapidly developing area of research．Agent is a kind of intelligent program which simulates human behavior and human society relation．iS able to run voluntarily and provide correspondence service． Multiagent systems offer a way to relax the constraints of centralized，planned， sequentiaI control，to provide systems lhal are decentralized．emergent and concurrent． This paper proposes a Web application named Multi-Agent Based Intelligence Tutoring System(MABITS for short)，The subject domain of which iS high—school mathematics．it iS a one—f0一one coached pmb『em solving，TS helping students to do homework after attending their classroom sessions fother kind of lTS include those for teaching materia J synthesis and understanding．1earning by examples，etc．)．ABITS provide agility,personality and intelligent practice and doing homework environment，is regarded as an electronic teacher． In the Intelligence Tutoring System．multi—agent technology is used to decompose the very complex Iogic transaction．Each logic model iS encapsulated into lndividual agent in the network SO as lo reduce both software and hardware costs，and provides faster problem solving(by exploiting parallelism)． In this paper,the main researches involve the design and implemenI of Intelligence Tutoring System based on multi—agents． First，Intelligence Tutoring System is divided into foMr Agents including Student ModeI Agent．User Agent．Helper Agent and Reasoning Agent．We give each agent’S function and core algorithm． Second，this paper proposes the solution by which agents car communicate and COOrdinate each other by infrastructure．The BDl theory iS integrated into the agent application，Furthermore，the plan store and message unit based on XML iS designed and implemented． Third．ABITS iS built above the J2EE platform，this paper introduces how to use the JMS and MDB technology in J2EE to strength the agent’S reactivity． Key words： Agent，ITS(Intelligence Tutorin
