Who is participating in an APS workshop. The APS workshop process. Standard documents to use. How we celebrate success. 4 What is an APS workshop? Definition: A workshop is when a cross functional group has a common goal to find the root cause of a problem or improve the current situation. 5 Who participates in a workshop? A trained workshop facilitator always leads the workshop team. An APS coach who has expert knowledge in the APS tool that is used. Employees from the area the workshop is done at. Other people who can bring expert skills to make the workshop successful. Eight persons is maximum size for the team. Example – TPM workshop: Workshop facilitator APS coach Operators Production engineer Quality engineer Maintenance technician 6 The APS workshop process Policy Deployment and management decisions tells us when we need to start an APS workshop. An APS workshop is a project. It has a fixed start and end date. During this time we have a defined workshop process we use. An APS workshop should be finished in four months. 7 The APS workshop process Why a workshop? Who: The workshop facilitator and area manager. When: 2-3 weeks prior to next APS committee meeting. Why: To explain the problem/improvement, find indicators and set challenges for the workshop. How: 8 The APS workshop process Check document Who: The workshop facilitator, area manager and APS committee. When: At APS committee meeting, after intensive days and at end of work with the team. Why: To check / validate the progress of the workshop. How: 9 The APS workshop process Cost and savings matrix Who: The workshop facilitator. When: 2-3 weeks prior to next APS committee meeting and at end of work with team. Why: To calculate the cost benefits of the workshop. How: 10 The APS workshop process V
