Depart- ment of radiology,Xiehe Hospital of ongji Medical University,Wuhan 430022 = Abstract Purpose: o study the value of clinical application of fast FLAIR (fluid-attenuated inversion-recovery) in cerebral disease.Methods: 39 patientswere studied with MR 2WI and FLAIR simutaneously. he mode of presentation of the lesions were compared.Results: 310 lesions were displayed with FLAIR and 237 with 2WI. he contours of the lesions were clearer in FLAIR than that showed in WI. he contrast of lesion-to-normal and lesion-to-CSF ( cerebrospinal fluid) were higher 2 in FLAIR,which is particular of superiority to demonstrate lesions in thewhite matter or paraventricular area. Small hemorrhagic foci in Sylvian fissure and the cerebral sulci can be shown in FLAIR.
