Important point: Use the adverbs of frequency correctly: always, usually, often, sometimes, hardly ever, never. Difficult point: Talk about the activities with the frequency words correctly. Teaching aids: CAI Teaching procedures Step1 Lead in Enjoy a song. Do you like the song? I like it. And I like different kinds of songs, so I often listen to songs on my computer on weekends. What do you usually do on weekends? 2. Show the Ss some pictures and ask: What does he /she usually do on weekends? Step 2 Presentation Show the Ss a photo of Alice. Present always, usually, often, sometimes, hardly ever, never. Let the Ss understand the following: love doing Sth.-always do Sth., like doing Sth. very much-usually do Sth., like doing Sth. –often do Sth., don’t mind doing Sth. –sometimes do Sth., don’t like doing Sth. –hardly ever do Sth., can’t stand doing Sth. –never do Sth.. Step 3 Pairwork Ask the Ss to talk about their weekend activities by using the frequency words. Step 4 Listening Practice Talk about the 5 pictures on Page 1. Ask the Ss to listen to the tape and choose the best answer for each blank. (Listen again if necessary.) Step 5 Writing Think about your summer vacation activities and write a short passage. Step 6 Homework 1. Revise the new words and phrases. 2. Interview your best friend’s summer vacation and write a short passage about it by using the frequency words.
