Unit3 I’m more outgoing than my sister. Section A 1a 1c Ⅰ. Teaching Aims  1) Knowledge Objects: Key vocabulary: outgoing, taller, longer, heavier, thinner, loudly, quietly. Target language: The rabbit is more outgoing than the turtle. The rabbit is taller than the turtle. The rabbit’s legs are longer than the turtle’s. The rabbit is heavier than the turtle. 2) Ability Objects: a. Train the students’ ability of listening and speaking. b.The students learn to talk about the personal traits and be able to compare people. 3) Moral Objects: We should try our best to make something better and better. Ⅱ.Teaching Analysis Students have learned some description words, but they cant compare two different people or things. Ⅲ.Teaching Key Points and  Teaching Difficulties Teaching Key Points Key vocabulary: outgoing, taller, longer, heavier, thinner, loudly, quietly. Target language: The rabbit is more outgoing than the turtle. The rabbit is taller than the turtle. The rabbit’s legs are longer than the turtle’s. The rabbit is heavier than the turtle. Teaching Difficulties Use the target language to practice the oral English. Ⅳ.Teaching methods Task-based teaching methods. Listening speaking practice. Ⅴ.Teaching Aids A tape recorder and PPT VI. Teaching Procedure Step1. Warming up First, look at the pictures. One is a turtle, the other is a rabbit. Make an introduction“more outgoing”. Lead in the topic–personal traits and the target languagecomparative degree. Step 2. Presentation 1.Teach the target language. How to compare the rabbit and the turtle by using comparatives with –r/er/ier/more. 2.Let the students have a try. Step 3. Practice 1) Ask students to practice some words with comparative degree group by group. 2) Play a comparison game. Show students five pictures one by one, and then use the pictures to compare different people. Pay attention to the key sentence pattern: A+ be +形容词的比较级+than + B. 3)
