Unit 8 How do you make a banana milk shake?
Period 1 Section A 1a-1c
本课分析:
本课是一节听说课,首先通过图文将学生带入“食品制作”的情境中,并在语境中输入核心巨型“How do you make a banana milk shake?”及应答“First,... Next,... Then,... Finally,...”和重点词汇如:shake, cut up, yogurt, finally, turn on, peel。本课是本单元的第一课时,应该通过简单的听力活动输入新的语言,发展学生听说能力。教学内容贴近学生生活,课堂任务应侧重于培养学生的语言实践能力。
学情分析:
学生进入八年级后,有了一定的英语基础和语言学习能力,语言感知能力比较强,英语学习的积极性比较高。但是还有相当一部分学生英语学习基础薄弱,在英语学习中出现这样或那样的困难,所以教师要以灵活多样的教学设计和丰富的学生活动,激发学生的学习兴趣,引导学生热情参与,鼓励学生积极学习,积极地进行语言实践,引导学生逐步养成良好的学习习惯。
Step 1: Lead-in
1.A small talk
Have a small talk about today’s weather to introduce the topic.
Say: What’s the weather like today? So on such a hot day, what would you like to eat or drink to make you feel cool? Help students to answer the question.
2.Have a PK
Divide the students into two teams. Each team names as many words about healthy food as possible. The team which gets more points is the winner.
Say: Food is very important to us, so we should have a healthy diet. We should eat more healthy food. We’d better not eat junk food. The topic of this unit is cooking. Let’s learn how to make food together.
Step 2: presentation
1.Introduce instant noodles by asking “What food do you think is the easiest to make?”
(Show a bowl of instant noodles to students.)
Then teach students how to make instant noodles. First ask students what is in a bowl of instant noodles. Then have students to describe the process of making instant noodles using “First,... Next,... Then,... Finally,...”.
Say: Would you like to drink something special? Today we are going to learn how to make a banana milk shake. What do we need?(tools and ingredients) How many bananas do we need? How much milk do we need? Help students to answer.
The teacher shows the pictures to students, and makes students know the process of making a milk shake. Then show the key words on the screen.
