Here we introduce five major components: the engine, the drive-train , suspension, the car body and the electrical system. Engine The engine is called the power unit and it is the source of power that makes the car move. It includes engine management, crankshaft assembly, engine lubrication, engine cooling, exhaust system and air system. Drive-train The drive-train is a very important part of the vehicle. It is the power transfer assembly. It transfers the power from engine into wheels. It has clutch system, gearbox, propeller shafts, and final- drive unit. Suspension The suspension is the under portion of an automobile. It’s the frame of the vehicle and supports all of the major parts. It has two parts: front suspension and rear suspension. It contains brakes, wheels, and tires. Body It is the support and load-bearing structure. The car body can protect the engine, the driver, the passengers and goods. There are windows, doors, hood, side- impact protection and frame.
