(5mins) Before reading Lead in: I wrote a blog last night and many people gave me thumbs up. Do you often write blogs? Today we are going to read and listen a blog written by Emma. Let’s go into her blog. (2mins ss: listen think) While reading I. books open, skim the blog and look at the pictures. Answer the following questions. 1. Whose blog is it? 2. Where is she? 3. Who is the boy in picture 3? (T: elicite SS: skim and look at the pictures Time: 3 mins) II. Listen and read On the road. Answer the questions. 1. Did Emma enjoy the flight to New York? 2. What did she do after dinner with Nathan’s party? 3. Why diid she wake up early on Saturday? 4. How was Ben driving her mad? 5. Where did they eat on Saturday evening? 6. What was Emma doing when Nathan came into the bedroom? Step1. choose any of the students to read the questions and ss predict their answers. Help ss understand the questions. If necessary, help them. (5mins) Step2. Listen to the recording twice and the students answer the questions in their books. (5mins) Step3. Books open. Read the blog and try to make sure the answers are correct. (2mins) Step4. Group work. Discuss the answers in group. (2mins) Step5. Check the answers in open class. The students who present the answers must tell the class where the answers come from.
