Step1. Lead-in
1.List chores.
2.I have a lot of chores to do everyday though I am not a housewife. I begin to do chores as soon as I get home. What do you usually do after school as soon as you get home?
Step2. Presentation
Yesterday as soon as I opened the door ,I found my house was a mess. Show Ss a picture of a messy room. My son threw things everywhere.
Who cleaned the room, my son or my husband?
Who does the housework in your home?
Practice neither , both.
Step3. Fast reading
Who does the chores in Nancy’s home? Divide the passage into four parts.
Step4. Careful reading
Beginning:
Read and Answer Qs:
1) What did the dog do when she came home from school?
What did the dog want Nancy to do? Why didn’t she do it? (Rephrase : too…to/ so that)
3) What did she do instead?
4) What happened as soon as she sat down in front of the TV? (Rephrase :as soon as/the minute)
Development: What did they say to each other?
1. Listen to the tape and Imitate.
2. Answer Qs:
5) Why was her mother angry with her? (Rephrase: She watches TV all the time=always).
6) What did Nancy shout back? (Rephrase: I’m just as tired as you are. )
Role play.
