Ⅰ.Teaching aims and demands
Knowledge aims:
New words and phrases: roll, look for, e-mail, chocolate, RSVP
Target sentences: We/You will …. Will you …?
Ability aims:
By the end of this lesson, students are able to tell the specific information of Robin’s Easter party according to the invitation, describe things they will do in their own birthday parties and write invitations in the correct format.
Moral aims:
By the end of this lesson, students are able to get the significance of festivals and live hopefully with happiness and joy and be grateful to their families and friends.
Ⅱ. Teaching keys and difficulties
Assumed problems:
Students may make mistakes in the format of invitation writing. Some students may have nothing to write in the “WHAT” part.
Possible solutions:
The teacher will encourage students to summarize the format of invitation writing through discussion in groups and play the micro learning resource to conclude the format of invitation writing. Besides, the teacher will show a birthday party invitation of her own as an example and encourage students to brainstorm and discuss before writing.

Step 1: Warm-up lead-in
The teacher introduce herself. New words, phrases and target sentences will be shown and taught during the introduction.
Free-talk: Which season do you like best? Why? What will you do? When is your birthday? What will you do on your birthday?
Step 2: Pre-reading activities
Show Wu Yifan’s favourite season and lead into the topic festivals.
Guessing game: Guess festivals by showing some corners of pictures.
Brainstorming: What will you do on …? Will you …?
