II II THE REACHER ABOUT OCCUPATIONAL STATUS OF INTERGENERATIONAL MOBILITY IN GUANGXI ——-BASED ON THE DATA OF CGSS IN 2008 ABSTRACT Social stratification and social mobility has been one of the main branches of sociology, but also the use of empirical research methods and statistical models of a more mature fields, and occupational mobility is one of the important issues of social stratification and social mobility field. based on the data from Chinese General Social Survey (CGSS) in 2008, using the professional statistical software (IBM SPSS Statistics 20) to analyze the data, based on the brow-Duncan status attainment model and the international socio-economic index of occupational status (ISEI ) method for studying intergenerational mobility occupational status in GuangXi. Firstly,GuangXi’ 180 samples are descriptive statistics, in order to get the peoples occupational status’ characteristics after the intergenerational mobility,and then from three aspects of urban or rural, men or women, and different level of education on occupational status,after changing the status of intergenerational mobility are descriptive statistics,correlation analysis and significance test, obtained the residents in guangxi’ characteristic in the sample type, gender and level of education,and four hypothesis were verified one by one. Through the analysis of the empirical survey data and materials, this paper proves that a general increase in occupational status after intergenerational mobility, while urban residents’ occupational status is not generally higher than that of rural residents afrer the inter-generation mobile, male residents’ occupational status is slightly higher than womens after the inter-generation III III mobile and only has a very weak correlation, the higher level of education,the higher occupational status after the intergenerational mobility, which also makes for higher education to become upward mobility is the most effective one of the ways.
