They did not live with their mother, but every year on their mother’s birthday they sent her gifts by mail. James was 29 years old. He was a farmer in a small village in Texas. He was not rich, but he was happy. This year, he had a special idea for her mother’s gift. He wanted to find something which was the only one in the world. What’s the Perfect Gift? Jack was 33 years old. He was a famous scientist and was living in Washington, D.C. He also wanted to find something which was the only one in the world. He wanted his mother to know how famous he is! He had finished his great book on Math. He believed that his book was the only one in the world. What’s the Perfect Gift? The oldest brother, John, was 38 years old. He was a rich businessman in New York. He owned a big company. He wanted to find something which was the only one in the world, too. He wanted to show his mother how rich he is. He advertised in newspapers to ask for this gift. Later on he bought a bird that could speak ten languages and sing many pop songs. It cost 100,000 dollars. What’s the Perfect Gift? A few days later, they all called their mother to ask what she thought of the gifts. Mom replied to James, “Well, I can’t eat all of it. I can’t keep it, either. But thank you very much. It is very sweet and I know you are happy.” Mom said to Jack, “Thank you very much. I know you wrote a great book.
