Teaching procedure Step 1 Warming up At the beginning, I’ll show a video about the future life to the student and ask them what they saw in it. Let the Ss to discuss about the future life. (Purpose: I think it’s important to form a better English learning surrounding for the students by watching a video. It will arouse their interest of learning this lesson.) Step 2 Pre-task Learn the new words and phrases by pictures. And then Finish 1a Brainstorming. I’ll give the students 5 minutes to write out the words about job, transportation, places to live and then ask them to write them on the blanks. Ask the students to make up sentences by using the words on the screen. (Purpose: To present 1a by CAI is much easier for the students to learn and grasp the meanings. The activities can make the students to remember the words easily and lead them to speak English actively. The brain storm makes the class more vivid and it’s also a preparation for the following contents.) Step 3 While-task Task 1 Finish 1c I’ll ask the students to look at the pictures carefully, then answer the questions to predict the listening contents. (Purpose: It’s necessary for the students to predict the contents. it can help students to reduce the difficulty of hearing, improve the students listening level) Listen to the tape and number the pictures 1 to 3, then check the answers. Task 2 Finish 1d Before listening, ask the students to read the sentences in 1d and try filling the blanks by themselves. Listen to the tape and check the answers. (Purpose: Train Ss’ listening ability and thinking ability.) Task 3 Finish 1e I’ll make a conversation with a student about Alexis and Joe and then write it on the Bb. Role-play. The students make conversations like this with their partners. (Purpose: This step is employed to make the students get the general idea of the dialogue as a whole one. At the same time it’s not only let the students have a chance to improve the students speaking and cooperation
