Teaching objectives
Knowledge objectives:
Students can master some new words and phrases: went to summer camp, went to the mountains, went to the beach, … and talk about the past events using the simple past tense.
Ability objectives:
Students can improve their abilities of listening, speaking and communicative competence.
Moral objectives:
Students will learn to relax themselves enjoy the beauty of nature.
Teaching key points and difficult points
Key points: to know the phrasal verbs and the sentence patterns:-Where did … go on vacation?-…went to sp.
Difficult points: develop the abilities of speaking and listening and communication.
Teaching procedures
Step1 lead-in
Present a piece of video taken on my vacation. And then ask students the question “where did you do on your summer vacation?”
Step2 presentation
1. Present new words and phrases by showing some pictures.
2. Ask students to ask and answer about their vacation one by one.
3. Students finish 1a.
Step3 Consolidation
1. Listen and number the people in the picture 1-5.
2. Listen again and read the listening material.
3. Work in pair to make other conversations with the people in the picture.
Step4. Practice
1. Ask students to listen to 2a and 2b, then check the answers.
2. Role-play conversations between Grace, Kevin and Julie.
Step 5 Practice 2d
1. Read the conversation and match the people with the right place.
2. Role-play the conversation. Make their own conversations.
Step 6 Summary
Invite each group to draw their knowledge trees on the blackboard.
Step 7 Homework
1. Review the new words and phrases.
2. Interview your best friend about summer vacation and introduce it to others.
