Nonpoint pollution from rural areas is t he result s of t he ecosystem degradation ,and ecological engineering tech nologies are good ways for t he restoration of watershed and enhancing material cycling. There are two typ es of treat ment strategies :to control t he polluted runoff and to reduce t he pollutant s from t he sources. Six control tech nologies are introduced and t hey are multipond systems ,grassed filter trip s ,wetland systems ,ecoagriculture ,slop e ecological engineering ,ecological treat ment of wastewater and soild waste . These technologies need to be com bined systematically in order to form a watershed ecological engineering.
