Unit 3 My birthday A Let’s talk   Teaching aims: 1. Aims on the knowledge: Students can listen, speak, read and write : “birthday,the short form of twelve months” and key sentences: “When is your birthday? My birthday is in…… .Is your birthday in……?” 2. Aims on the abilities: (1) To develop students’ abilities of good listening and speaking. (2) To train the students’ ability to work in groups. (3) To foster students’ abilities of communication and their innovation. 3. Aims on the emotion: (1)To foster students’ consciousness of good co-operation. (2) To lead Ss to be obedient to their parents. Key points: To help the Ss listen, speak ,read,write and use the words and sentences correctly and fluently. Difficult point: To help the Ss use the sentences in their daily life. Teaching tools: Multimedia , tape will be needed. Teaching Procedures and purposes: Teacher and students activities: Purposes: Step1: Warm-up 1.Review the words of twelve months. 2.Free talk : “When is your birthday? My birthday is in……” 3.Let’s sing. To conduct the students to enjoy the class actively. Step2: Presentation 1.Create a circumstance and teach new sentence: “Is your birthday in……” 2.Guessing game. 3.Introduce Amy,Mike,ZhangPeng to students and ask: “When is Amy’s birthday?” 4.Listen to the video and find the answer. 5.Read the dialogue by Ss,and let students find the answer to the questions: “When is Mike’s birthday? When is ZhangPeng’s birthday?” 6.Check the answers. 7..Listen and repeat the dialogue. 8. Read the dialogue in groups of 3. 9.Let students show their performances. Students can understand and say the words and sentences easily. It’s good for students to understand the whole story later. It’s better for students to concentrate on lesson,so I give them some questions before reading.
