Teaching aims: After the class, students are able to observe the words: dinner tiger sister water computer and summarize the pronunciation rule -- er /?/. listen to the chant and repeat. spell words according to the pronunciation rule. Analysis of the students: Students in Grade 4already have a basic command of English. They have mastered a certain vocabulary. They can summarize the pronunciation rule by observing the words: dinner tiger sister water computer . It can help students improve their ability of speaking and writing. It will also lay the foundation for future learning in junior high school. Key and difficult points: (1)Guide students to summarize the pronunciation rule . (2)Guide students to spell other words containing er in the end using the pronunciation rule. Teaching aids: Cards and PPT. Procedures: Step Ⅰ Warm-up Greet students. Step Ⅱ Lead-in Listen and sing a song “Our school”. Look and say Teacher shows a picture and asks students:Is this a classroom? Students:No, it isn’t .It’s a computer room. [Purpose: Review the words about school we learned last class and prepare for the content we will learn.] Step Ⅲ Presentation and Practice 1.Teacher shows some pictures .Students speak out the words by guessing: dinner tiger sister water computer .
