Phosphorus and potassium content detection was important for agriculture and fertilizer markets. The common fertilizer types and concepts were introduced. The details of the test method for available phosphorus and potassium in compound fertilizer also introduced. The test method of phosphorus and potassium about organic fertilizer was described. Used the microwave digestion to batch processing for the organic fertilizer sample，the efficiency of digestion was improved. Finally，the different phosphorus and potassium fertilizers test methods were compared and experience was accumulated，which can be reference to the tester.
