Abstract
Competition is fierce among manufacturers of concrete mixer trucks. Therefore, companies invest a lot of resources to research for improving the competitiveness of products. There are no uniform design standards for tank support structure of the concrete mixer truck, so its research, design, and optimization are in great originality. Among them, the research data of the front supporter are very rare. It is necessary to carry out the optimization of the front support to improve the overall performance of the products. This reseach provides a reference for the peers.
In this paper, a 15m3 concrete mixer truck is studied. The finite element method is in use, and
static analysis, modal analysis, harmonic analysis and transient analysis are performed to check the safety performance of the front support. Then the topology optimization and size optimization are applied to find new front supports with better safety and lighter weight.
In static analysis, according to the standards and literatures, four single dangerous working conditions are identified. Compare analysis results, and then give out the most dangerous comprehensive working condition. The results show the primary structural is safe. Provide a research environment for transient analysis and an important research area for optimization.
In modal analysis, confirm that resonance does not occur and find the most sensitive parts about the vibration. The frequency range is provided to harmonic analysis and the sensitive parts are provided to optimization. In the harmonic analysis, find that fatigue failure will not occur. And provide time step for transient analysis. In transient analysis, finally confirm that the original structural is safe and the result of static analysis is overly conservative. The optimization should be used to make the structure lighter and safer.
