During the Qing Dynasty, classical learning academies flourished in Suzhou. The academies embodied obvious official school features, and were in effect dependencies of the official ones. The academies brought forth lots of excellent talents for the country and the local areas as well. The flourish of classical learning academies boosted to some extent the prosperity of imperial examinations in Suzhou.
