Teaching plan for school life
Good evening, everyone. It is my great honor to share my teaching ideas with you. Today my teaching topic is school life. I’ll begin this lesson from five parts:analysis of the teaching material, the teaching methods, the studying methods, the teaching procedure, and blackboard design.
Part 1the analysis of teaching material
First, let me talk about the teaching material.The selected teaching material is a magazine article taken from the reading section of Module 1, Unit 1 ofAdvance with English.This reading passage is a vivid description of the school life in Manchester made by Wei Hua, a Chinese girl who once studied in the UK. The students who are expected to learn this unit are the new comers to high schools. They will certainly be curious about British high school life as well as their own school life. So the topic is an amazing one for the students, and it will definitely stimulate the students’ interest since they can imagine and arrange their own new school life.Furthermore,it also shows students the foreign culture and extends their eye vision. Naturally,they will have an appetite for the further English study.Therefore the unit 1 actually acts as an activator to lead students to learn the following unit better.
1. The teaching aims
According to the new standard curriculum and based on the analysis of the teaching material, I have chosen the following as the teaching aims of my lesson:
Knowledge aim:
1) To learn some useful words,expressions and sentence structures。
2) To identify the differences in the school life between the UK and China.
Ability aim:
1)Totrain the students’ reading ability of getting information by skimming and scanning。
2) To enable the students to learn to talk about school life.
Emotion aim:
1) Topromote the students’ love for their high school life。
2) Todevelop their consciousness of culture differences.
