School Environment and Energy Engineering, Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Ministry of Education, Beijing 100044, China ） Abstract:In this paper,based on the simulated real hydraulic conditions, the effect of Larsen index on the corrosion of carbon steel was studies from corrosion rate, iron release, morphology and composition of corrosion products. The study found that under the different conditions of Larson index, the content of iron release was falling with the time extension, the increase of Larson index also can accelerate the corrosion rate. When observed by electron microscope scanning, the more Larson index, the less calcium carbonate formation. There is no obvious distinction on the type of corrosion products in the different conditions that was transformed to α-FeOOH and Fe3O4 over time.
