This paper describes the type of sludge bu lk ing and induced mechanism. Quality of w astew ater, d issol ed oxygen, sludge load ing, shock loading, opera- tion model and treatment processes are the main affecting factors for bulking sludge. It summ ed up the measures of controlling the sludge bulking.
