AbstractIt Abstract It is more than 2,000 years ago that people started the research of translation．As is known to all，translation is largely divided into scientific translation and literature translation．Scientific translation has played an important role in the development of human science and cultures．During Late Ming Dynasty and Early Qing Dynasty,translations with western science and technology have held a more and more important position． Huang Zhending，in his essay The Arttic Nature of Science—technology Translation and an Artistic Approach to／t，mentions that translation of science and technology refers to a kind of written translation of texts in science and technology,but not adaptation translation or abridged translation．These texts include the texts of commerce，law and application，which are not the texts in the field of literature and humanities．The style of scientific translation focuses on accurate notion， strong logic，concise manner of writing，objective expression and factualistic spirit． With the rapid development of science and technology in China， more and more new words in science and technology are created．They are different from daily words．However,new words in science and technology begin to be close to our study,our work and our life，because of of the arrival of the information age．Translations of English new words in science and technology have scientific and technological features，SO the translations are supposed to be faithful in the meaning of the words． When a new word in science and technology is translated，it is not arbitrary and it has its own cognitive rules，therefore translators should respect the rules．At the same time，the impact of readers plays an important role in translation of science and technology．Moreover,the searches on the translation of new words in science and technology are focused on describing the formations and translation strategies of new words from the traditional point of view，but a few researches are studied
