What’s the highest mountain/the longest river/ the deepest salt lake/ the biggest desert in the world?
to express the big numbers using: thousand, million,billion, kilometer long/deep/high

To train the students to care about the world’s environment through talking about the world’s tops.

1. Get Ss to review some Grammar meaning of this unit.
Step 2 Presentation talk
Show on the screen some pictures and learn the new words.
1. Practice the conversations like this:
A: What is the longest river in China?
B: The Yangtze River.
2. go on talking.
The Nile is the longest river in the world.
It is 6.671 kilometers long
It is in Africa.
Get the students to use the structure in a proper way. Pay attention to the names of the places in the sentence.
Step3 Activity 1a
1. Get the students to read through the pictures in Activity 1a and match.
2. Get them to make the information into a sentence.
