China and the United States as the two bigger countries in the world, have their rich traditional festivals respectively, it is also manifests their formidable national culture. As a civilized country with a long history, rich national traditional festival is an indispensable and important component in Chinese culture. Each festival has its historical origins,?? beautiful legends, the unique taste and a deeper mass base. They reflect the national traditions and customs, morality and religious attitudes, entrust to care of the nation’s vision, and it is a long time in the joy of the event generation to generation for thousands of years. China is a multi-ethnic country which with a 5000-year-old history. In the constant development of the historical course, it forms a lot of unique traditional festivals, which are diverse forms and rich content. Holiday in America is an integral part of American culture. It is the centerpiece of national psychology, ethics, values, ethos and aesthetic appeal in American peoples’ hearts. The representative festival of China is the Mid-Autumn Festival while the representative festival of America is the Thanksgiving Day. These two traditional festivals are very famous in the world. However, the Chinese people do not understand the Thanksgiving Day, and Americans also do not understand the Mid-Autumn Festival.
