AbstractS Abstract Since the Changsha--Zhuzhou··Xiangtan city group has been authorized as¨the comprehensive reform pilot area of national resources-saving and environmental friendly¨in 2007，there has made a series of achievements．However，after nearly ten years of testing and development，the coordination of ecological environment and economy development of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan city group entered the bottleneck period，then how to coordinate the relationship between ecological environment and economy development，security through the bottleneck period become a top priority．Liling City is an important part of the Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan city group，and also is the’’east gate of Hunan province¨，which has great development potential and strong plasticity．In this paper，we will choose Liling City as the research obj ect， not only analyzes the status quo of ecological environment and economy coordinated development of Liling City，and to a certain extent，also reflect¨the resource—economical and environment-friendly society¨ construction situation of Changsha—Zhuzhou—Xiangtan city group，and have an very important significance． This paper is divided into four parts．Part one，research on the theory of ecological environment and economy coordinated development at home and abroad；part two，further research on the present situation of Liling City；part three，constructing index system from six aspects，such III 万方数据 as as economic strength，economic structure，economic vitality，ecological quality，environmental quality and environmental management，using coordination degree model，calculate the benefit index and coordination degree of the ecological environment and economic development in Liling City about 2004 to 20 1 4，compare to Hunan province and Changsha County，find out the problems of the coordinated development in Liling City；last part，put forward the countermeasures to promote the coordinated development of ecological environment and economy in Liling City．The main co
