* “Loop” To produce a recurved catheter, a Cobra catheter is inserted into a subdivision artery , and the long wire guide is advanced for several CMs beyond the catheter into the artery . By advancing the catheter a long recurved “loop”is produced in the catheter .Rotating the catheter and advancing it further will cause it to disengage and lie free in the aorta .The catheter then is directed towards the target artery orifice and withdrawn to engage the catheter in the artery . The abdominal arteriography The RH catheter is inserted into the aorta and the tip is rotated anteriorly and gently withdrawn .As the catheter flicks into the celiac orifice ,a small contrast injection will conform the catheter position . Selective catheterization of the left gastric artery is performed by , either straightening the curved tip of the catheter with the stiff end of the wire guide or by reforming a loop catheter in the hepatic artery and engaging the left gastric artery . The orifice of the superior mesenteric artery is usually found at the level of the first lumbar vertebra above the renal artery . And inferior mesenteric artery arises between the L2-L3 and L3-L4 disc spaces . IV Interventional therapeutic techniques *
