The The Problem of Linguistic.Inj urY and Its Countermeasures湔the VieW oi Ethics Abstract This thesis examines carefully,from the angle of ethics,the phenomenon of linguistic injury i11 current social life and the ethical countermeasures ofconstructing language harmony. The whole thesis consists of five parts,of which Chapter One,Two and Three are the body. Introduction presents the origill of problem,background,current status and the value of research in t11is area;the methods that have been utilized,and finally what iS new and creative about tllis WOrk. Chapter One introduces the relationship between language harmony and speech morals. Then linguistic injury iS defined and classified。its characteristics analyzed to reveal the great threat to our society.The necessity iS thus proven to advocate the use ofharmonious language. Chapter Two makes the questionnaire survey on linguistic injury in current social life.The statistics is analyzed and classified. Meanwhile,the collected language material is reorganized and induced as a supplement to the questionnaire survey.Then a thorough analysis is presented on the causes ofthis phenomenon at both personal and social levels. Chapter Three proposes six ethical principles on how to restrain linguistic injuries from happening and how to advocate the use of harmonious language.The six principles proposed include respect,equality,harmlessness,courtesy,politeness,appropriateness and cooperation· Following that,five ethical countermeasures are suggested together with five language moral rules,calling for the retum ofthe traditional language civilization.At last,the thesis appeals for the creation of a harmonious language environment in order to promote the construction of a harmonious socialist society. The Conclusion part sums up the major points presented in the thesis.
