At first, Gouvernail seemed quiet and boring, which greatly annoyed her. But just at the night before her departure for the city, the conversation between them totally changed her feelings towards him. She was deeply attracted by his tone of voice. However, she resisted the temptation by leaving home without saying goodbye to him.
