Unit 5 Lesson 4 Let’s Dance
Objectives
1)To read a text with gapped sentences and be able to complete the gaps using topic, linking and reference clues.
2)To practise vocabulary related to music and dancing,for example,disco, classical ballet, Chinese folk dance, waltz,and breakdance;identify different types of dancing ;
3)To talk about dances in the form of an interview.
Procedures
Pre-Reading
Enjoy some pictures about dancing to arise their interest.
Fast reading
(一)Put the sentences below in the correct gaps in the text. Use the Strategies to help you.
1)Read the whole text to get the general idea
2)Look at the missing sentences and read the paragraphs with gaps in detail
3)Make sure that the topic of the sentence matches the topic of the paragraph
4)Make sure that the sentence fits in with the sentences before and after it
a) In the mid-1980s, break dancing became popular.
