All in all, after giving enough details about Aileen Zhang’s “anthropophagy” translation, this dissertation explains the model of mental activities and aims in the process of Aileen Zhang’s translation, and shows the significance of writing and spreading on translator’s biography to the criticism of literary translation, and makes it clear that the studies on biography and psychoanalytic psychology are two critical factors in translation studies. It’s argued that the terminal aims of this research is not trying for getting a universal truth from the study of this individual case, but it can provide something for constructing the “biography-psychology” literary translational criticism through the study on the translational experiences and texts of Aileen Zhang, to escape the limitations with opening a vacant lots of translational studies and exploiting a new field of translation studies.
