The name “Utopia” comes from two Greek words meaning “no place”. Book one: social conditions of England Utopia Book two: an ideal communist society Book One is a picture of contemporary England with forcible exposure of the poverty among the labouring classes, the greed and luxury among the rich, and an eagerness for war on the part of the rulers. ——第一本是对英国当时劳动阶级的贫困，富豪的贪婪和奢华，好战的统治者的真实写照。 The root of poverty is the private ownership of social wealth. ——贫穷的根源是私有制。 In Book Two we have a sketch of an ideal commonwealth in some unknown ocean, where property is held in common and there is no poverty.（财产共同所有，没有贫穷） In this book, More insists upon a maximum working day of six hours, which ensures the provision of all necessaries.
