Book 1 unit5 Nelson Mandela—a modern hero 说课稿 (The first period) Part Ⅰ Analysis of the teaching material The topic of this unit is Nelson Mandela—a modern hero.In this part,students will know about the qualities a great person should have.The reading passage Elias’s Story is to introduce to students the qualities and abilities that make Nelson Mandela such an interesting person to study.Not only was he able to inspire many to follow him despite many difficulties but he became an international symbol for fairness and justice. Part Ⅱ Analysis of the students The students in Class 7 Grade One are of different levels so I should adapt the lesson to each of them and try to solve different kinds of problems which may appear in the lesson. Therefore,in this class,Ill give them chances to think ,ask questions and create situations to discuss in groups .It is easy for me to arouse the students interest in the lesson,but it is not easy to focus their attention for the whole period, so I will create various activities to maintain their curiosity.
