This is a challenging component to manufacture in this machine type.;Marks on hub and blade at trailing edge.;P3MAX analysis;The vector of the tools is largely governed by the shroud curvature ;The hub finish problem solved but the still marks on the trailing edge of the blade.;Changed QO angle distribution.;The result of the changes in AxCent;The marks have now been almost vanished.
The compressor was also balanced showing an imbalance of 2000 mg mm in phase so approx 0.05 g had to be grinded off, after balancing it was a residual imbalance of 34 milligram mm
The conclusion:
AxCent generates a new set of files very quickly after changed geometry.
MAX-PAC import of files and new tool paths are created within a minute.
5 different blade shapes was tested in a day!
Very steep learning curve when working directly with the production.
The new geometry shows better performance both calculation vise and in real tests.
