Unit 5 What are the shirts made of? Section A 3a-3c Analysis of the book: Unit5 is selected from Grade Nine, Go For It, whose topic is “production of China”. It mainly talk about the products that belong to China and where things were made. It emphasizes the usage of the present simple passive voice. It is connected to what will be learned in the two following units: the past simple passive voice and the passive voice that contains a model verb. Section A starts from the vocabulary that are related to everyday life, developing simple conversations and reading activities about production and places where things were made, in which the declarative sentences, general questions and the negative sentences of the passive voice are used. Analysis of the students: The students of Grade Nine have already had a certain knowledge reserve and a considerable cross-cultural awareness through the past years’ English learning. In the politics class, the students have had a through understanding of the topic ‘Made in China’. Which they can discuss and have a further understanding. Combining with the comprehensive ability of the students, I designed a series of activities and tasks this class, which encourage students to study individually and cooperatively and finish the learning task.
