My editing checklist 教学设计 授课教师 曾岑 重庆广益中学 教材分析 四、教学设计 Teaching content: My editing checklist about writing Learning Objectives: By the end of this class, students will be able to: Understand the evaluation standards of writing in senior high school entrance examination. Use the editing checklist to make their writing better. Focus and difficulties: Focuses: the structure of writing and details, such as grammar, better vocabulary and the better sentence by using logical words. Difficulties: 1) Students may not find the grammar mistakes easily at first. 2) How to master the way of correcting their writing. Teaching procedures: Step1: lead-in Teacher compare selfie with students’ writing, and beautify their selfie is just like correcting their writing. (students can understand why we have to correct their writing more clearly.) Introduce the score standard of writing. (students can know how to get score from several ways. Step2: Show a piece of writing from a student. Ask students it is good enough, if not, correct it together. Step3: How to make the better writing (the editing checklist) Did I re-read my writing to better the layout? 1)The function of layout:A better layout can make the writing more clear.) 2) How to make the better layout. ( introduce, details, conclusion) 2. Has a topic sentence? Stays on topic, doesn’t stray to other ideas. 1) The function of topic sentence: A topic sentence is a key of your writing. 2) Students find the topic sentence from the writing. 3. Include at least 3 supporting details. 1) The function of detail: To support and explain your topic. 2) Ss find 3 supporting details in the passage. 4. Has an interesting conclusion? The conclusion is : Restating the topic A question An exclamation(感叹句) An opinion A wish 5.
