Abs tract: To explore the possibility of safe and beneficialuseof farm landmoderately to heavily contam ina
ted by heavymetals, a field demonstration of energy crop production was carried outon a heavymetalcontam ina
ted farm land in Zhejiang Province. The results showed the soilpH increased and availableheavy metal contents
significantly reduced after the addition of0. 1% lmi e and 0. 2% phosphate rock. The biomassof sweet sorghum,
sugar cane and vetiver was affected by available heavy metals in the soi.l The total sugar and reductive
