Unit 9 What does he look like?

【教学目标】:
知识目标: 1.The new words: hair, short, curly, long, straight. height, tall, short, of medium height ,build, thin ,heavy of medium build.
2.The new sentences:
(1) What do you look like?
I am tall .
I am short and I have straight hair.
I am of medium build, and I have long hair.
(2) What does she look like?
She is tall .
She’s short and she has straight hair.
She is of medium build,and she has long hair.
能力目标: 培养学生运用What does he /she look like ? He /she is /has …等句型来描述人物外貌特征,并能通过听他人的描述描绘人物.
情感目标:引导学生评价一个人的美丑,逐步使学生能够领悟到外貌丑的人也可以美丽,外貌美的人不一定是美丽的人,心灵美重于外表美。
【重点难点】
The new words: hair, short, curly, long, straight.

Step 1 :导入
老师通过介绍自己的外貌:I am thin . I am short and I have long hair.来导入本节课所需要的描述人外貌的词汇。通过幻灯片展示所要学的词汇。
Step 2 :The new words
教师领读新单词,然后学生自读,通过举手的方式来告诉老师对读音的掌握情况。
出示幻灯片展示一些关于外貌的词汇让学生图文匹配来检查学生对单词意思记忆的情况。
Step 3 :Listening
1听录音1b并看着1a的图片,完成填空 , 找出谁是艾米的朋友.
2 练习 What does he look like? He is of medium build, and he has short hair.
Step 4 :Describe looks
两个同学为一小组准备对话:
What do you look like?
I am short and I have straight hair. 并表演对话。
(2)学生根据图片来对图中人物的外貌进行对话练习:
What does she/he look like?
She/he is short and has straight hair. 并表演对话。
Step 5 :拓展
关于用多个形容词来描述头发时的顺序。先展示例句:she has long curly blonde hair.然后学生自己总结出正确的顺序:长短+形状+颜色。
练习:把以下内容翻译成英语。
1、黑色的短卷发------------ 2、黑色的长直发------------
3、金色的短卷发------------- 4、金色的长直发------------
5、棕色的长卷发------------- 6、棕色的短直发------------
Step 6 :Guessing game
Describe one of your best friends. Then let other students guess who he/she is?
