第1课时
一、教材内容分析
1a--1c是第八单元的第1课时,本单元主要和学生一起学习如何描述常见的地点,并初步学会使用“there be”结构。首先,通过图片的展现,学习相关的地名,然后通过问路对话,引入“there be”句型。在一段听力材料后学生更熟练的掌握其用法。最后学生小组讨论完成一篇短文填空,最后学生以小组合作的形式完成一篇描述性文章。它起到强化本课时语言点,更加加深学生对本课所学知识点的理解与应用。
二、教学目标
学生通过学习,需达到以下几点要求:
①让学生掌握以下地点和方位的单词:post office,hotel,police station,bank,street,hospital,restaurant,pay phone,across from,in front of以及重点句型--Excuse me,Is there a post office near here?--Yes, there is./No,there isn’t.It’s on Bridge Street.②学生对词汇和句型能熟练用于听、说、读、写的常规教学中。
③培养学生七年级孩子的基本沟通交流能力,在同学之间营造一种和谐,友好的氛围。
三、教学过程
Step 1: Lead-in and presentation (11minutes)
Teacher: Today we are going to learn Unit8“Is there a post office near here?”Students read the title please. Second lead to the new words. The teacher present pictures and the new words cards to teach the new words .
After that ,students read the new words after the teacher.At last, a student will do the same work like the teacher.
环节说明:通过图片的展示和单词卡片的呈现,使学生轻松掌握新单词,既调动课堂气氛,有能加深印象,激发学生说英语的热情。
Step 2 Finish the tasks in1a -1c(15 minutes)
1.Match the words with the places in the picture and finish the task in 1a .
2.Listen to the tape carefully and finish the task in 1b.
Teacher:Pay attention to me , in this time you will circle the places you hear in1a After that we will check the answer together.
3.The teacher begins to present the sentence structure “there be”
4.After students understand “there be”,there is a competition for them.
Students make sentences using “there be” .First,divide the students into three groups.At last decide which group is the group winner.
5.Follow the conversations of 1b, Then students make dialogs by themselves and act them out.Finish the task in 1c.
A:Excuse me,Is there a ...... On Long Street?
B:Yes, there is.
A:Excuse me,Is there a ...... On Center Street?
B:No,there isn’t .
A:Where is it?
B:It’s on Center Street.
