SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) Between November 2002 and July 2003 an outbreak of SARS in Hong Kong nearly became a pandemic. And within weeks SARS spread from Hong Kong to infect individuals in 37 countries in early 2003. Influenza The first influenza pandemic was recorded in 1580 and since then influenza pandemics occurred every 10 to 30 years. The Hong Kong Flu, 1968–69. An H3N2 caused about one million people worldwide. Influenza A (H3N2) viruses still circulate today. The cause of the civilization appeared are the same as the infectious diseases, such as population increase, setting down, engaged in agriculture and animal husbandry, etc, and the plague is a unavoidable consequences of the wave of civilization in globalization trend.
