The UN works in agriculture, economic growth, education, health, environment, global partnerships and other fields. The UN is connected to many different organizations that do different projects or programmes. The UN was founded on October 24, 1945. There are currently more than 100,000 UN peacekeepers in 16 peace operations. Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish are the UN official languages. The working languages at the UN Secretariat are English and French. The General Headquarters of UN is located on an 18-acre site on the east side of Manhattan. It is an international zone belonging to all Member States. Read the short passage and pay attention to the names of the organizations in blue.
